Lightning detection

NASA sponsors an interesting program called INSPIRE. Volunteers from around the United States have formed a network of Very Low Frequency Radio receivers. The network contains over 1000 stations, and anyone can join. They even offer the receiver, however it costs $80 and has to be assembled. Still, it is definately a step in the right direction for anyone interested in such things. Here is the main website: http://image.gsfc.nasa.gov/poetry/inspire/.
